In Winterfell their motto is, “winter is coming.” In Toronto we’re beginning to wonder if it ever will. The fact we haven’t seen any snow yet is scary for some. For others this forever-fall has profited their pockets. October’s Very Own found their way into the heart of November, and into the ears of over 659,000 Americans. That’s what I call an export. That’s what I title success. Our David conquered Goliath… but this city is full of warriors.

Bryan Espiritu and his Legends League are shining examples of such men-at-arms. Being a fitted fanatic I’m always online looking for innovative baseball hats. Structure, stitching, and style are important and Bryan Espiritu has an eye for all of the above. I’ve seen his work all over Toronto heads, and thanks to the triple-w I’ve learned his story and watched his company grow.

His work extends into the realms of graphic design, painting, and an array of branded apparel. From custom New Era caps to hand crafted crewnecks his touch is consistent and prodigious. In addition, he honors his supporters with savvy swag, and will be hitting up the Fashion District on December 3rd with a pop-up shop. I’m hoping I’ll have the time and funds to stop by, to support a soldier in this struggle who leads by example.

Earlier I mentioned the instant success of Drake’s new album, Take Care. Now that the numbers are in and the art is out there Drake is on tour promoting his product. Travelling under the “Club Paradise” pennant this college campus concert series includes the talents of Kendrick Lamar and A.$.A.P. Rocky.

For those unfamiliar with the latter I offer the following endorsement. Rocky belongs to crew all tattooed with the acronym (A)lways (S)trive (A)nd (P)rosper. In seemingly no time at all these Harlem natives have accomplished exactly that. After releasing Deep Purple and LiveLoveA$Ap team leader Rocky inked a deal with RCA, and garnered the gold needed to expand his empire. His sound is screwed, his look comes with attitude, and his ego is diplomatic. He’s a student of the game, and evidence that graduates come with honor. To prove the point I’ll let him show you his degrees.

Wonderful piece. Really like how you covered both of these guys and their respective brands. Also, great intro. Everything you said within it was 100% true. This city is JUST starting to heat up and it excites the shit out of me, that we’re a part of that fire. Continuing to LOVE this series. Stand up for Hip Hop and Fashion. All day.
