It has already been established that my love for hip-hop is certified. Like the category I place it in it’s my “Inspiration.” Be that as it may, I’m not always friendly with my fellow fans. I tire of those individuals still lost in the 90’s. You know the type, those self-styled rap historians chastising kids in skinny jeans. For me hip-hop is not a movement to reminisce over, it’s movement period!
Hip hop is always progressive, and in turn it is always relevant. It is cutting edge, revolutionary, and consistently game-changing. It’s that “New-New,” and if you miss the train you’re stuck kicking dirt.
That being said, G.O.O.D. Music is the guaranteed fresh sound of 2010, as well as the perspective musical author of 2011. With Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Fridays in full effect, and Pusha T fully established as an official member of the team, fans are now being introduced the rest of the label’s roster. The most recent of which being Cyhi Da Prynce.
Cyhi (pronounced: sigh-high) was signed to the label in August and exploded onto the scene next to Jay-Z on “So Appalled.” Thereafter he went from his couch to the cipher on the BET: Hip Hop Awards. Surprisingly he stole the show from the veterans. With lines like, “I’m Big Poppa plus I’m 2-Pacalypto. My mind is weapon what I need to pop a clip fo’,” it’s little wonder why.
This youngster from the ‘A’ can also be found rapping alongside my fav white-boy Yelawolf, but where he shines most is on his new mixtape. “Royal Flush” just dropped yesterday (Download Here), and I’m telling you that you need to get on this. When it comes to that New-New I know what I’m talking about. Trust me!
