G.O.O.D Friday

Let me just start by saying this – The G.O.O.D music compilation album excites my curiosity more than any album in the history of music. With such a large roster, it would be nearly impossible to be a true fan of every artist on it. That said, I am. From CyHi Da Prynce to Pusha T, from Big Sean to Mr. Hudson, there is not one artist that I have not been completely enthralled with since the beginning.

Thanks to Kanye West, in mid 2012, this dream-team of producers (that means Mannie Fresh as well), rappers and singers will be bringing us the highest quality of eclectic urban music the record business has ever seen. Since having recorded the entire album earlier this year in London, England, the G.O.O.D music camp has been extremely tight lipped with regards to what fans can expect.

This week, some major light was shed with the random release of Kanye West’s solo track Theraflu and G.O.O.D Music’s first official single Mercy. These songs, although very different reflect one common theme: Southern Influence. Perhaps this has to do with Louisiana charm of super producer Mannie Fresh, or the infinitely progressive versatility of Hit Boy. Regardless, both songs are catchy, well produced and extremely well written.

Below is a taste of both.
