Bruce Springsteen – Wrecking Ball

As a faithful fan of the boss, I have (for years) been following his every move. From tours, to award show performance and new albums, there isn’t much that Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band does that I don’t hear about. With Bruce and his music, it has always been the nostalgic undertone and cryptic, yet eloquent choice of song lyrics that pulled me in.

Growing with your music is never an easy task, and often times artists who have had 30, 40 and even 50+ years in the spotlight often tire with age. The last 10 years have been the complete opposite for Bruce. Since 2002, he has had four #1 albums with over 5 million records sold worldwide. While enjoying peak success in the autumn of his career, the hardest working man in rock n’ roll opted to keep on working.

This March, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are slated to release their newest album Wrecking Ball. A commentary on the crumbling economic state of the United States, this album plays on the insightful songwriting strengths that the boss is known for. Similar to his 9/11 focused 2002 release The Rising, this body of work focuses on Bruce’s reflection on the current recession in America.

As always, fans can expect a fresh, different and ever evolving sound. The upbeat fashion of the album’s delivery completely juxtaposes its lyrical topics. The tone of the songs are hopeful, optimistic and uplifting; the exact kind of music the world needs right now. In short, fans and newcomers alike can look forward to a variety of hard-hitting stadium music that will undoubtedly creep into your bones and penetrate your soul.

Look out for the album on Tuesday March 6.
