Big Sean – Toronto Show

I’ve seen a lot of rap shows. They are easily my favorite type of concert to attend. The high energy, aggressive nature and braggadocios undertone of a rap artist performing is unmatched by anything else.

This Sunday G.O.O.D music artist Big Sean visited Toronto for the 1st time. Now, those who read my music blogs have definitely picked up on the fact that I’m a BIG Big Sean fan (pun intended). I find his delivery completely unique to other artists on his level. His image is organic, honest and focused. He’s a hard worker with copious amounts of talent, and I don’t see it being very long before he realizes his full potential in the music industry. Before I move on, I just wanted to articulate that.

Before the show, there was a meet and greet at a Toronto urban fashion store. This gave a select few fans the opportunity to get autographs and pictures with him. During this interaction, Sean was so overwhelmed and moved by the love he was getting, that he actually shed tears. Genuine appreciation is so hard to come by, especially in an industry like Hip-Hop. I was completely endeared and moved by his reaction.

Here is a clip of his tearful speech.

As for his actual performance, I was left speechless. If I said his ability to perform was amazing, I would be doing him a disservice. He worked the crowd from start to finish, and never lost it for a second. Going through his list of (pre-album) hits was a given. What shocked me the most was his interaction with the fans. In between virtually every song, he made a point of saying how thrilled he was to be there, how honored he was by the love he was receiving and how much he appreciates the support that his fans give him.

Big Sean is one of the brightest and most talented rappers in the game, and at just 22 years old he is FINALLY FAMOUS!

My Man! So glad you had fun at the show, I hope you had a chance to interact with your boy. I am not the huge fan of Big Sean, but I do respect him. I also respect he wore a Jays fitted (even if it clashed with that Bape jacket, LOL). Real talk though, great work… but what I like most is you told it from a fans perspective, I’ll co-sign fan service any day!

Chris, so glad you did this! Bog Sean is my favorite out the GOOD music group. I love everything about his style and his approach. I really believe he will do the best even about Pusha and Cyhi.
Amazing dude, we definetly got the same taste in music!
