2011 Range Rover (Supercharged)

Yes. I get it. Range Rovers are blatant status symbols, stereotypically obtained by rich suburban wives. However, like most vehicles, they also appeal to a wider demographic than just that.

When it comes to SUV’s I have always been a fan of Land Rover (as a company) over anything else. I find that a lot of the SUV’s manufactured (domestic or otherwise) in the past 10 years have been stylistically and economically ridiculous. The sheer purpose of having a bigger, functional vehicle has been grossly exploited and completely compromised.

When I think of Land Rover as a company, I think regal, elegant, classy and extremely sophisticated. When I think of the Cadillac Escalade (for example) I think of tasteless hip-hop videos from the early 2000′s. No wonder SUV’s got such a bad rap by the masses!

For the past 4 or 5 years the Range Rover brand has been continuously pushing the envelope of quality and thus garnered more and more attention. Sharing a niche market with the likes of the Porsche Cayenne, Lexus LX and BMW X5, there is stiff competition. Now I’m not denying the fact that all of these vehicles (Land Rovers included) are not status symbols. They are! Thankfully however, the newly designed 2011 Range Rover boasts more than just looks and a name.

Drivers can look forward to a 5.0 LR-TDV8 engine that accomplishes an impressive 510 horsepower. This full size SUV is faster, and more precise than many luxury sedans on the market. Range Rover enthusiasts can expect the same unmatchable interior, equipped with a few new bells and whistles to brag about. A hefty resume of options and upgrades is always accompanied by a heft price tag. For the fully loaded 2011 Range Rover Supercharged expect to pay upwards of $115,000.00.

Look out citywide banks. I will stop at nothing to make it mine.

You know why the Land Rover brand has been aggressively pushing the envelope for the last 5 years? Because like Lincoln, they are owned and operated by Ford. That American know-how has taken the Brits to a whole new world of discoveries. It’s like a magic carpet ride Aladdin ;)
